Health Education
In-Service Training and Workshops

Available to local businesses or organizations, and modified to the individual employer/employee needs.
Topics include: Stress/time management, drug/alcohol abuse prevention, safe work sites, improving life through exercise and healthy living, CPR and First Aid training.

Workshops can be co-sponsored and are offered throughout the year to provide up-to-date information for health care professionals, staff, mental health workers, counselors, teachers, parents, and others interested in the well being of individuals and the community.

Continuing education hours are available for nurses.

Successfully Parenting the Drug-Exposed Child

A 12-hour training for those parenting children with prenatal exposure to drugs and/or alcohol abuse.

Specialized Care Training
A training to support caregivers with medically fragile infants and children. Below are 2 different series:

Kids In The Kitchen

Family Child Care Provider
Licensing Orientation

This class is for persons who wish to become a home licensed child care provider. Prior to attending the orientation, you must mail a $25 check or money order payable to DSS Cashier.

Relatives Offering Ties and Support
of Children Birth to 18 Years Old

These 6 three-hour sessions are for family members who are caring part-time or full time for a relative's child. Challenges involving caring for your kin's child, obtaining needed financial assistance, helping your family, and obtaining medical services for special needs children will be discussed.
